What I've Been Up To

This past week, I've had the chance to demo our product and pitch on several forums - from early backer meet-ups to creator showcases. The feedback has been incredible, and honestly, energising. There's something about showing someone how they can go from idea to polished video in minutes that never gets old. Every conversation reinforces that we're onto something big here.

One thing that keeps coming up: marketers are exhausted by the endless cycle of briefing agencies, waiting weeks for revisions, only to launch something that feels disconnected from their original vision. We're changing that narrative, one demo at a time.

AI News That Caught My Eye

Three stories from this week that got me thinking:

  1. Sam Altman's Therapy Warning What happened: Altman publicly warned that ChatGPT conversations aren't legally protected like real therapy sessions.

My take: This feels like strategic positioning to me. Sam's playing the "responsible AI" card while probably trying to avoid getting dragged into court cases. Smart move, but also makes you wonder what conversations they're seeing that prompted this warning.

  2. Browser Wars 2.0 is Heating Up What happened: Microsoft just made Edge fully AI-native with Copilot mode, joining the growing list of AI-first browsers like Comet & Dia.

My take: We're witnessing the browser become the new operating system. I've been testing a few of these AI browsers lately, and the workflow integration is getting scary good. Microsoft's late to the party, but they've got the distribution muscle to make noise.

  3. Adobe's Playing Catch-Up Again What happened: Adobe launched AI Harmonize in Photoshop for seamless composite editing.

My take: This should have shipped a year ago. I hate to say it, but Adobe and Canva are starting to feel like legacy players trying to bolt AI onto old architecture. The AI-native tools are moving too fast, and I think we're seeing the beginning of the end for their growth story.

Product Updates

We've been shipping some exciting stuff that I'm genuinely excited about:

  • Discord Bot is Live: You can now generate videos and images right inside our Discord community. Just link your account and start creating without jumping between tabs. I've been using it for quick tests and it's honestly addictive.

  • Going Open Source with Vinci-Clips: We're open-sourcing the foundational work that powers tools like OpusClip and Descript. You can check it out at github.com/tryvinci/vinci-clips. We've benefited so much from the open source community, and this feels like the right way to give back.

  • Edit Mode Private Beta: This is the big one. We're starting to roll out private invites for Edit Mode, which completely breaks the 5-10 second video limitation. You can now extend videos infinitely - add new scenes, tweak narratives, build full campaigns. I've been testing it obsessively, and it feels like we've unlocked a new category of video creation.

We're Hiring!

Speaking of growth - we're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join our team. If you know someone who gets excited about AI, video, and helping marketers win, send them our way: wellfound.com/l/2Bv9VM. Spread the word!

See you next week!
